What Plumbing Repairs Do We Handle?
We repair supply lines, drain lines, fixtures and water heaters in Gastonia homes. That covers pipe leaks in walls and crawl spaces, toilets, faucets, showers and supply lines, as well as garbage disposals and slow drains. Repairs on copper and PEX are straightforward. Older galvanized steel often requires a partial re-pipe.
Do You Need a Plumber Right Now?
Call immediately if water is running where it shouldn’t, if sewage is backing up, or if you have lost water to the whole house. Those three get worse by the hour and the damage is usually the expensive part, not the repair. Everything else can wait for a scheduled visit. If you’re unsure which category you are in, call and describe it. We’re available 24/7 for emergency plumbing repairs.

Why Do Gastonia Homes Have Plumbing Problems?
Age. The median Gastonia home was built in 1979, and just over half the city’s housing, 51.6% of 34,721 units, went up before 1980. Nearly four in ten predate 1970. That matters on a repair call because the era a house was built in narrows down what its supply lines are probably made of, and the material decides whether a leak is a patch or the start of a bigger conversation. The three problems below are the ones that age produces most often.
Also, Gaston County sits on Piedmont clay subsoils, which swell when wet and shrink when dry, and that movement works on buried pipe joints for decades.
Corroded galvanized supply lines
Galvanized steel was common in homes built before about 1970, alongside copper, and roughly 13,500 of Gastonia’s housing units date from that period. Galvanized corrodes from the inside, so the first symptoms are falling pressure and rust-colored water rather than a visible leak. Once a line is corroded enough to leak, the pipe beside it is usually in the same condition, and a spot repair often fails within a season. On those houses we’ll tell you plainly when a partial re-pipe is cheaper.
Leaks under slabs and inside finished walls
Most of the cost of a hidden leak is reaching it, not fixing it. A leak on exposed pipe in a crawl space is a short visit. The same leak under a slab or behind finished drywall is a different job. The tell is usually indirect: a warm spot on a floor, a water bill that climbed without a change in use, or the sound of running water with every fixture closed. We locate the leak before opening anything, which keeps the repair targeted.
Fixtures and supply lines at end of life
Fixture parts wear out on a schedule. Toilet flappers stop sealing, faucet cartridges start to drip, and braided supply lines under sinks fail after years under constant pressure. None of these is urgent on the day it starts, and all of them waste water or cause damage if left. A dripping faucet has already failed at the seal.
What Happens When You Call Us
Most repair calls follow the same four steps, and the price comes before the work. You describe the problem and we tell you whether it can wait. We diagnose before we quote, because the symptom and the cause are often not in the same place. You approve a price. Then we do the repair.
The four steps
01. You describe the problem. We tell you what to shut off, whether it can wait, and when we can be there.
02. We diagnose before we quote. The symptom and the cause are often not in the same place, so the price comes after someone has looked.
03. You get the price before work starts.
04. We do the repair, and leave you with total peace of mind
Plumbing Repair Across Gaston County
We repair plumbing in Gastonia, Belmont and Kings Mountain, and across Gaston County from our shop at 2232 Plastics Drive in Gastonia. Being based in Gastonia rather than reaching in from Charlotte is the practical difference on a repair call. The drive is shorter, and the technician who comes out has probably worked on your street.
Plumbing Repair Questions From Gastonia Homeowners
Emergency calls are taken 24 hours a day. Call (704) 825-4463, describe the problem, and we’ll tell you when we can be there. Active leaks, sewage backups and whole-house water loss go to the front of the line; everything else is booked for the next available visit. While you wait, shut off the water at the fixture valve or at the main, and if a water heater is leaking, cut its power or gas as well.
A $95 diagnostic fee covers the visit and the diagnosis on a repair call, and it is waived when you approve the repair. You get the price before any work starts. Bigger jobs like a water heater replacement or a re-pipe are quoted after we have looked at the house, not over the phone.
A homeowner can do minor work on their own property, but anything that alters supply or drain piping is contractor work. Unpermitted plumbing has a habit of surfacing later when the house is sold. It’s fair to ask any plumber for their license classification and number before they start, and we explain what North Carolina issues on our main plumbing page.
Usually, and the reason is the failure behind it rather than the drip in front of it. The other reason is diagnostic: a drop in pressure at one fixture reads very differently from a drop across the whole house, and the small symptom is sometimes how we find the larger problem. We’d rather look at a small problem than a water-damaged floor.
Yes. Same company, same phone number. If a technician is already in the house for HVAC and spots a plumbing problem, you hear about it then rather than after it has done damage. One of our reviewers put it this way:
Ronnie Smith provided awesome customer service. While he was servicing our unit he noticed that we had a leak in our hot water heater. Thanks for the great service!
